Design Elements

 

Virginia and Linda had an idea for their stairway. They wanted a rug on the stair treads, they gave me a scarf with botanical prints and told me they wanted it done in yellows reds and greens and that it needed bugs for the grandchildren. I met with them when my sketches were done, we settled on a design and chose paint colors. Three weeks later they returned from their trip to a finished stairway.

The view outside the doors created the inspiration for the insets on the door frame.

Petra's teenage daughter wanted a fun vibrant room to be in playing off her cultural history I reinterpreted the folk art of her dutch ancestors.
